Projects in Progress
Bethesda is a city on the move, continually growing and redeveloping. Many projects are currently in the works.
Current Projects

Hampden House
7316 Wisconsin Avenue
Going up next to the future Purple Line Station, Hampden House will deliver 366 one-and-two bedroom apartments, 11,000 square feet of commercial space, and a 9,183 square foot public plaza.

The Charles
7340 Wisconsin Avenue
Located between the future Purple Line station and the Bethesda Metro station, The Charles will deliver 301 new units comprised of studios, and one, two, and three-bedroom layouts. There will be underground parking and ground-floor retail space.

Bethesda Market
7155 Wisconsin Avenue
Bethesda’s historic Farm Women’s Cooperative Market will be restored as part of this development project by EYA. The original building will be preserved, while a mixed-use residential building will be constructed on the parcel and the existing surface parking lots will be transformed into public parks and green space.

Purple Line
Stretching from Bethesda to New Carrolton, the Purple Line is a 16-mile light rail line that will seamlessly connect Montgomery & Prince George’s counties, while offering a direct link to Metrorail’s Red, Green, and Orange Lines, MARC Commuter Rail, Amtrak, and local & regional bus networks. The light rail will have 21 stops between Bethesda and New Carrolton, including Chevy Chase Lake, downtown Silver Spring, and the University of Maryland. Slated to open in late 2027, the Purple Line is a vital system that will move people efficiently and sustainably, while improving the quality of life across the region.
