2008 Semi-finalists

Fifty-three artists were selected as semi-finalists for the 6th annual Trawick Prize: Bethesda Contemporary Art Awards. Over 350 artists from Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. submitted artwork to the competition. Up to 15 artists will be invited to display their work from September 2-27 in downtown Bethesda at Heineman Myers Contemporary Art. The top four winners will be awarded $14,000 in prize monies making this visual art competition one of the largest in the nation.

The 53 semi-finalists have been asked to submit additional slides of their work, reviews, bio, artist statement and press articles. The first place winner will be awarded $10,000, second place will be honored with $2,000 and third place will be awarded $1,000. A “young artist” whose birth date is after April 10, 1978 may also be awarded a $1,000 prize sponsored by the Fraser Gallery.
